How to join

If you are interested in becoming a Beekeeper or just interested in beekeeping generally, join a local branch of the Association.

Email a branch secretary near to where you live and you will be given full details of the joining procedure.

Membership runs from the 1st January to to 31st December and there are various membership types to choose from.

Membership Classes and fees:

  • Registered Member – £31.00 (Includes £2.00 for Bee Disease insurance) for those individuals who keep bees in their own right and wish to take a full part in all the aspects of the DBKA.
  • Partner Member – £18.00 for those individuals who reside at the same address as a Registered Member.
  • Junior Member – £12.50 for individuals under the age of 18 years. Junior membership shall cease when the individual attains the age of 18 and shall be automatically and immediately amended to Registered Membership for the remainder of that membership year, without further payment.
  • Local Member – £6.00  for those individuals who do not keep bees in their own right in the County of Devon, who are generally interested in the craft of beekeeping, and wish to participate in DBKA activities primarily at Branch level.

The DBKA magazine is available to all members in digital format without cost. If you would like to receive a printed magazine there is charge of £18-00 for ten issues.
